RIVERLAND ROAD TRIP – 3 AUSSIE STATES ALL IN A DAY

Driving towards northeast of Adelaide City, passing through Blancetown, Barmera and Renmark and you’ll find yourself getting closer to the Victorian Border. We spent a weekend on a Riverland road trip driving towards Renmark, South Australia. It sounds crazy but we wanted to set a record of stepping into 3 Aussie States all in a day. And we did it!
From South Australia into Mildura in Victoria then standing one foot in Victoria and the other foot at Buronga NSW along The George Chaffey Bridge.

1: Adelaide to Blanchetown Bridge (Griffens Marina Blanchetown)

2: Blanchetown Bridge to Lake Bonney Jetty, Barmera SA
Distance: 84 km
Drive Duration: 1 hour

3: Lake Bonney Jetty to Heading’s Cliffs Lookout, 93 heading road Murtho, Renmark Paringa

4: Heading’s Cliff Lookout to Mildura, Victoria (checked-in: Econo Lodge at 433 Deakin Ave Mildura)
Distance: 148 km
Drive Duration: 1h 45 mins
5: Econo Lodge Mildura to the George Chaffey Bridge (Mildura Victoria/Buronga NSW Border)
Distance: 5 km
Drive Duration: 8 mins
DAY 2:

6: Mildura, VIC (Econo Lodge 433 Deakin Ave Mildura) to the Perry Sandhills in Port Wentworth, New South Wales (via Old Renmark Road)

7: Perry Sandhills to Junction Park (where Australia’s Great Rivers meet the Murray Darling Confluence)
Distance: 8 km
Drive Duration: 11 mins
The drive back to Adelaide City is approximately 400 kilometres and will take an estimated 4 hours and 35 minutes. The township of Truro, SA would be the best place for a pit stop. Drive safe!
