5-DAY TASMANIA ROAD TRIP
We realized 5 days in Tasmania was a bit rushed, but nevertheless we managed to squeeze in most of the highlights of this beautiful place down under.
Before our trip we had organized the following:
- Car hire – from Europcar we chose a small SUV and Europcar provided us a Toyota Rav 4 which was very spacious equipped with safety features.
- Accommodations – in Cradle Mountain, St Helen’s, Swansea and Hobart for one night in each place.
- Park Pass – we bought the holiday pass for 8 weeks online (even though we won’t be staying that long) which cost us $60. This was cheaper than buying individual pass per national park. For more information visit the Tasmania Parks & Wildlife Service website.
Here’s our 5-day itinerary for this trip:
DAY 1 – CATARACT GORGE RESERVE AND LIFFEY FALLS RESERVE
We flew in Tasmania via Launceston airport and drove all the way to Hobart where we flew out and back to Adelaide.

We really enjoyed our road trip to Tasmania and will probably be back to explore the western side. This trip took place in an Autumn Season. We exited Tasmania via Hobart.
